Usage billing has one failure mode that costs you a customer and one that costs you a little money. We picked the second, everywhere, on purpose.

A gate, not a kill switch

Cutting off a device that should not be streaming is the easy half. The hard half is making sure it cannot come back — and that is a different mechanism.

Moving a camera without touching it

A device that is already deployed should be reassignable from a console, not from a ladder. That requires separating where a camera is supposed to be from where it actually is.
